Evangelism: Local Outreach

Gospel Outreach has been halted some way for some time due to many reasons. Evangelism program like Susamachar Dhawa, (gospel campaign), mass evangelism, Jesus Film, street drama, street preaching, tracts distribution methods has been changed. Personal evangelism, house to house visits and friend bringing friend to Church programs are widespread.

Despite persecution or challenges, we have to share the good news of Jesus Christ. It is up to them to believe or not believe. Before, democracy, it was very difficult to exercise Christian faith. Christian were treated like culprit that time. Now we have some freedom to do our religious activities as per constitution. Christians were here in Nepal before any kind of constitution come into effect.

LOCAL OUTREACH

Top three mediums which lead people to believe in Jesus

It has nothing to do with foreign religion or money, people have their own reason. There are various reasons why people follow Jesus in Nepal, these are top few reasons according to our understanding.

Prayer and Healing. Prayer of healing have brought many persons to believe in Jesus. A prayer from the Pastor for healing of sickness and evil spirits miraculously works on them and this experience leads them to believe in Jesus. They believe in Jesus after deliverance from satanic torment, continued sickness and curses. Sometime, their god demands expensive offerings which poor person can't give, but they get healing free of charge in the Church, that's why they follow Jesus.

Friends and Family. Large numbers of youth are coming to the Lord through their Christian friends and family members. When a person has accepted Jesus, they see the evidence of his/her changed life and other family members follow them. There is also family persecution for one member in the family, but if main family member comes to Jesus, rest of his family members follow him.

Love and Compassionate Work. Christian are open heart and they welcome and love everyone in the community, like Dalit, untouchable and poor and mix with them and eat food together. Sometime, instead of respecting lower caste people and giving them respect, high caste people mistreat lower caste people and beat them. Christian do not mistreat Dalit. They help the needy and give their best to care and love, thus people themselves come to Jesus.
